Hello! I am Jen Haas.
I'm currently living in Western North Carolina, working for a non-profit as their Outreach Coordinator. I use my graphic design, GIS, and organizing skills on a daily basis to promote conservation of local natural resources. Check out more here: Mountain Valleys RC&D.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montana in Geography and a Geographic Information Systems and Technologies certificate (May 2018). During my studies I focused on cartography and design, hoping to bring people and ideas together through story telling and data visualization.
Along with my degree, I have 8 years of experience in Resource Management, including Trail Maintenance and Wildland Firefighting, working with volunteer organizations as well as local and federal government agencies. I have worked at Mount Rainier NP (WA), Glacier Bay NP (AK), Glacier NP (MT), and Great Smoky Mountains NP (NC). I enjoy getting my hands dirty and the fresh air of the wilderness, where I feel most at home.
Creating art is a way for me to express myself, relieve stress, and share ideas with the world. I create with watercolors, beads, leather, recycled objects, and digital art.
